If you know just one thing about me, you’ll know that I love dogs. If you know two things about me, you’ll know that I love dogs and that I have ridiculously narrow drawers in my kitchen. (Seriously these two Lisa facts come up a lot!) The dog part is fun; the narrow drawers, however, are problematic.

I only have five drawers in my entire kitchen. Four of them are less than eight inches wide and the other one is a whopping 11 inches. I’ve struggled for years to figure out how to best use them. I’ve only ever found one organizer that fits and is truly useful ( I’ve already written about how great it is !) So I am beyond thrilled to tell you that the folks over at OXO have been working on a new line of drawer organizers , most of which are especially great for narrow drawers.

Note: I realize how nerdy it is to be excited about drawer organizers, but come with me and check them out. I guarantee you’ll be excited, too.

The new line includes seven different organizers. Each one has a different configuration and purpose. For example, there’s a super-narrow one for forks, spoons, and knives ; there’s one for spices and another for knives ; and there’s one for long-handled tools . Then, there’s the one that I’m most excited about: the OXO GG Expandable Kitchen Tool Drawer Organizer .

It has two main compartments, a pull-out side tray, a removable storage cup (that gray piece with all my measuring spoons; yes, I know I have a lot of measuring spoons!), and a removable utensil sorter (which I actually pulled out to use separately in a different drawer!).

I got my hands on one of these a few months ago (a perk of the job!) and it’s been a game-changer since day one. That day, I dropped the organizer into my emptied-out 11-inch drawer and was so shocked that I was still able to use the pull-out side tray. I knew the math suggested I’d be able to, but it’s not something I’m used to in my kitchen, so I didn’t want to get my hopes up. It was time to finally get all my cooking utensils in order!

With the organizer in place, I was able to start tinkering. Spatulas here, tongs there, Microplane there, etc. Sure enough, I was able to fit all the same stuff back in the drawer — only, this time, in an organized fashion. I love that OXO now has so many solutions for home cooks with narrow drawers. If you happen to have wide drawers, well, good for you. (Jokes.) What I meant to say: You can use a few of these in a single drawer or get creative with how you lay things out.

These new drawer organizer are so great, even Millie is pumped about them! C’mon. You knew I was going to work a dog into this story somehow …
