Something extra-weird has happened lately: Watching other people clean and organize has become a form of entertainment. If you’ve watched a single episode of Get Organized with The Home Edit you know what we’re talking about. In addition to Clea and Joanna, there’s also Go Clean Co , a Calgary, Canada-based cleaning company with 1.5 million Instagram followers.

The Go Clean Co Insta account is full of inspiration, good ideas, and smart tips. We can scroll through the company’s page for hours — and we did, in order to bring you this list. Here are some of the most helpful cleaning tips we learned from Go Clean Co.

1. Turn on your hood fan when you cook to prevent greasy messes.

Cutting through grease on your stovetop or backsplash is a huge hassle. Help to eliminate some of that buildup in the first place by always turning on your hood vent when you cook on the stovetop. When it’s finally time to wipe down those surfaces, use an actual de-greaser. Go Clean Co swears by Mr. Clean (yellow, straight, undilated) or a dishwasher tab in a sink of hot water.

2. And clean your range hood filters monthly with a degreaser.

Range hood filters are great at trapping grease, dirt, and other particles above your stovetop. So that means it’s very important you stay on top of cleaning yours. As with cleaning grease from your stove area, you’ll need something stronger than just soap. Go Clean Co suggests spraying with a degreaser like Mr. Clean or running the filter through a dishwasher.

3. Scrub your sink with dish soap and vinegar in a spray bottle.

Here’s a simple way to de-germ, de-grease, and de-everything the inside of your kitchen sink, according to Go Clean Co . First, whip up a mixture of white vinegar and dish soap in a spray bottle. (About 1/4 cup of white vinegar with 2 and 1/2 cups of water, plus a few drops of your normal dish soap should do the trick.) Then, spray to cover your sink, let it sit for an hour, scrub with your favorite brush, and rinse. Make sure to thoroughly dry afterward!

4. Turn on your cooktop after you clean it to find spots you missed.

Go Clean Co loves Easy Off cooktop spray for de-griming stovetops, but they have a trick . If you have a glass cooktop, turn it on after you spray, scrub, and wipe away as much of the cleaner as you can. You’ll immediately be able to see the areas you didn’t wipe away thoroughly enough as the cooktop heats up (they look like filmy streaks). Make sure to finish them off before you use your stove!

5. Easily clean a splattered microwave with a glass of white vinegar.

Splatters in your microwave? Soften the gunk by microwaving a glass or bowl of water mixed with a couple glugs of white vinegar for five minutes. The wall and tray should be easy to wipe with a rag or sponge, thanks to the vinegar-y steam!

6. Refresh microfiber upholstery with Windex.

If you have kitchen or dining room chairs with microfiber upholstery, then you’ve probably noticed how easily they get covered in water spots and other stains. The solution is easier than you think: Just spray the microfiber with Windex and scrub with a dry, stiff brush. Use the same trick on a microfiber couch!

7. Deep-clean the inside of your fridge with Tide and bleach.

You keep your food in your fridge, so shouldn’t it be the cleanest place in your home? According to Go Clean Co , that’s a yes. After you remove everything from inside the refrigerator, fill the sink with water, a teaspoon of Tide powder laundry detergent , and a splash of bleach, and wipe with a Tide cloth. Rinse off in the sink once clean, then dry on a towel.

8. Vacuum the bits and pieces inside your fridge (and drawers).

It doesn’t take long for crumbs and dirt to accumulate in cabinets and drawers (including your fridge drawers). Take care of that problem with this ingenious tip from Go Clean Co : Just suck up all the debris using your vacuum’s hose attachment. A hand vac can do the job, too!

9. Clean your condiments (yes, you heard us right).

If you’re going through all the work of deep cleaning the inside of your refrigerator, make sure all your sticky condiments are clean before you put them back in! After tossing anything expired, run the sticky bottles under hot water and wipe them dry before you return them to their shelves.

10. Use laundry detergent to clean your floors.

Time to mop the floors? Go Clean Co recommends pairing your favorite spin mop with hot water and a teaspoon of Tide laundry detergent , which will actually pull dirt off your floors instead of just moving it around. Mop your floors, dunk as needed, and change your water when it starts to look dirty.
