When Dawn Platinum Powerwash started popping up everywhere , I knew I had to try it. You see, I almost always have a bottle of Dawn Original Dishwashing Soap on hand — although I actually don’t use in my kitchen. (For that I prefer Mrs. Meyers .) Instead, it’s become my go-to for cleaning grease splatters off clothes or nixing hard water stains from glass shower doors.

So, it really shouldn’t be a surprise (to me, at least) that the new foaming spray followed a similar trajectory as the dishwashing soap. And while I do use it in the kitchen, primarily for dirty pans that have been sitting out for a while, it has taken up permanent residence in my bathroom. Here’s why.

Dawn’s Powerwash Is My Favorite Way to Clean Shower Doors

Using Dawn Powerwash to clean glass, especially glass shower doors , is, quite simply the best. Making my shower doors crystal clear no longer involves getting a bucket or bin, mixing a solution of warm water and dish soap, and applying it with a rag. Now I only need two spray bottles: Dawn Powerwash and my trusty vinegar solution spray bottle.

First, I mist the glass with vinegar. Then, I aim the Powerwash nozzle on the doors and spray with the gloriously foamy Dawn. The foaminess helps the soap stick to the doors. I find that it penetrates the soap scum even better than my previous solution, which, in addition to being messier to apply, doesn’t offer the same kind of coverage.

Once I let the vinegar and foam sit for a while, all I need to do it wipe the doors down with a wet rag and quickly buff dry. The process is so simple and straightforward that I almost look forward to cleaning the glass. I most definitely enjoy the sparkling glass it gives me.
