There are a lot of organizers out there. So many, it can be hard to tell which products are worth buying. Should you spend a few bucks on little baskets? A few hundred on a pull-out wire rack? Let’s leave it up to the experts who have already done the trial-and-error work for you. Or at least one expert: We spoke with pro organizer Sav Susnow, founder of the Bay Area-based Savvy Solutions , to find out what she likes to use. After organizing more than 70 kitchens, she’s come up with a short list of organizing essentials.

Here are some of the game-changing products she uses almost every time she tackles a new kitchen.

1. mDesign Stackable Plastic Storage Organizer Bin with Built-in Handles

Susnow says this sturdy, stackable plastic bin is one of the most versatile organizers out there — you can use one or several in your pantry, fridge, in drawers, or even beneath your kitchen sink. To tidy up pantries, Susnow grabs a few of the 16-inch deep ones and fills them with individual, pre-packaged items to make grabbing a snack or packing lunches a breeze.

2. Lipper International Acacia Wood 10-Inch Kitchen Turntable

No matter what you need to corral (and where!), a turntable makes it easy to both store and grab kitchen essentials. Susnow loves this natural wood turntable on a countertop for storing cooking oils. “These also look amazing in the corners of pantries,” she says.

3. Emica Home Borosilicate Glass Canisters with Acacia Wood Air-tight Lid

Tired of cardboard boxes and plastic bags littering your pantry? Decanting can solve that problem — all the while saving space and extending the shelf life of pantry goods! Susnow says she loves to splurge on matching glass jars when she’s organizing pantries. There are plenty to choose from, but if your aesthetic is neutral, opting for a wood top adds a splash of interest. These super-cute jars would look great on a countertop or shelf, or front and center in the pantry or a cabinet-turned-pantry. Plus, Susnow says, they’ll look great in combo with your acacia turntable!

4. Copco 9-Inch Lazy Susan

Another turntable! Susnow says they’re the simplest way to increase your usable space. “I use these for the fridge,” she says. “I recommend using one for snacks and dips, and another for condiments or yogurts.”

5. Kootek 28-Piece Desk Drawer Organizers

The trick to using drawer organizers is three-fold, Susnow says. First, use museum gel to keep them in place, and second, opt for ones with straight edges (so you don’t waste space between each one), and third, go for matching ones. “I personally enjoy these clear modular ones because I love to update spaces on a frequent basis. I appreciate that I can change the design, I can use them across spaces, and they come in various sizes.”

6. mDesign Closet Stackable Plastic Storage Box with Lid

For clients with limited kitchen storage space, Susnow is a fan of these stackable lids with easy hinged lids. “I recommend using them under the sink for backup supplies like sponges, gloves, and dishwasher pods, or in the pantry or cabinet, again, for backup supplies,” she says.

7. iDesign Fridge Binz BPA-Free Plastic Beverage Can Organizer with Lid

Keep all the soda cans, bubbly waters, or beers accessible without losing your entire fridge. In addition to optimizing the depth of the fridge or cabinet, these are great for stacking or doubling storage space, Susnow says.

8. Drawer Dividers Bamboo Kitchen Organizers, $32.90

When you’re tidying up the kitchen, don’t neglect your drawers! Susnow likes these spring-loaded, adjustable dividers for keeping napkins, kitchen towels, and large cooking utensils neat. You can even use them to transform a utility or junk drawer.
