Nordstrom’s Marimekko Collaboration Includes Cheery Kitchen Finds That Are Perfect for Summer
published about 1 hour agoFor decades, Finnish design house Marimekko has infused homes around the world with eye-catching colors and playful patterns. And now, in celebration of their 70th anniversary, the brand’s latest collection is available as part of the exclusive Pop-In@Nordstrom series . Appropriately named “Treats for Life,” the new line features a fun and vibrant assortment of serveware , kitchen accessories , and design accents for everyday life and entertaining. And, as you’d expect from Marimekko, these pieces are adorned with adorable fruit, flowers, and graphic prints that will add a joyful pop of color to your summer table and beyond.
Below are a few of our favorite picks from the limited-time collection, which you can shop in full here .
The line-drawn botanical pattern on this stoneware plate is classic Marimekko, an elegant example of the brand’s more neutral black and white color palette. Measuring 5" x 6", it’s perfectly sized to serve a small salad or sandwich, and it's safe to use in the oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher.
Try not to smile while drinking your coffee from these sweet stoneware cups . Featuring a mountain range of strawberries set against a bucolic skyscape, the handle-free, 6.8-ounce cups are equally useful for a generous pour of wine or a mixed drink.
This black and white bowl features one of Marimekko’s signature patterns, and it's the perfect size for serving oatmeal, ice cream, or salsa. The stoneware construction is safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer, making it as durable as it is chic.
Marimekko started in the textile business, and this printed apron showcases the repeat graphic patterns that made them famous. The fiery red cotton apron features waist ties and a snap that allows you to adjust the neck, and you can just throw it into the washing machine when you're done cleaning up the kitchen.
Whether you use them to hold sliced citrus or a few cookies, this duo of blue and white plates would add a modern touch to a bar cart or dessert setup. The geometric-patterned, nature-inspired dishes would also look stylish as a ring dish by the sink, or even to catch a used teabag.
Even if tea isn’t on the menu, you’ll be proud to leave this poppy-print teapot on display. The stoneware pot holds 24 ounces and features a contemporary design with a sleek wooden handle. A drop-in strainer makes it easy to brew your favorite loose-leaf tea, too.
This floral oven mitt would be a happy addition to any kitchen linen collection. The cotton mitt is padded with polyester and insulated to protect hands from temperatures of up to 482 degrees Farenheit. Store this machine-washable cutie flat in a drawer or hang it using the attached loop.
Marimekko enlisted the help of Finnish illustrator and artist Jenni Tuominen to design this hand-painted lidded jar . Measuring 5 inches in diameter, it’s ideal for stashing candies, nuts, or small kitchen items like bag clips or twist ties.
Whether you keep it stove-side as a caddy for your favorite salts or use it to serve sliced fruit, this rubberwood platter would add a natural touch to your kitchen. It measures just over 4" x 7" and has a quarter-inch lip to keep items contained.
