Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia Is a Weeknight Favorite (It Only Takes 20 Minutes to Make!)
published NowAlthough tilapia is considered healthful, thanks to its low calorie count, it comes off as boring when unadorned. But Becky Hardin, of the Cookie Rookie , has found that the right preparation of tilapia can turn the fillet into an easy-yet-delicious weeknight meal. Enter: Parmesan-crusted tilapia .
“This healthy recipe for Parmesan-crusted tilapia could not be easier,” said Hardin. “It’s a great, fast, and delicious recipe to make any night of the year.”
In this recipe, Parmesan cheese adds a wallop of flavor to the otherwise somewhat-bland fish, while enhancing the crispiness of the breadcrumb coating. Lemon pepper also adds a hit of citrus to round out the taste. The fish is cooked in the oven and then quickly broiled to really brown up the cheese in the crust.
The whole thing takes less than 20 minutes to come together, and since tilapia stays good in the freezer, this can be a good last-minute option for dinner. Hardin recommends serving the fish with rice to keep the whole meal quick and easy, but you do you. Any other simple side dish would work — especially when you bring it all together by topping the whole plate with chopped green onions and a squeeze of lemon.
