The 8 Best New Groceries to Hit Supermarket Shelves This July
published about 1 hour agoIt’s time for Grocery Spotter, and you know what that means! A look at the best new groceries that have hit physical and online grocery store shelves. My favorite picks from the month cover a variety of categories including fancy sashimi-grade yellowtail, convenience-store beef jerky, sugar-free yogurt, cinnamon-sugar cookie dough, and more. There’s a lot of newness to be excited about when grocery shopping right now, and I hope you’re continuing to live your best summer life with the most delicious food and drinks in your fridge, cooler, or picnic basket.
Let’s a take a look at the best new groceries to come out this month.
1. Pillsbury Limited Edition Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookie Dough
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is one of my all-time favorite cereals, so it was no surprise that I liked this limited-edition cookie dough. What is it? Think: sugar cookie with Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust mixed into the dough. These cookies are best enjoyed just a few minutes after they’re finished baking in the oven. The cookies spread nicely on the cookie sheet and have a crispy outside and chewy inside.

2. The Kingfish Company Dutch Yellowtail
Enjoy sushi-quality yellowtail at home, thanks to The Kingfish Company, a company specializing in sustainably raised Dutch Yellowtail from the Netherlands. You can find these packages of two 8-ounce skinless, boneless fillets in the freezer section of Whole Foods Market locations nationwide. Their grocery store debut in the U.S. comes as they’re building a farm in Maine that, upon completion, will make it a domestically raised fish. I tried the yellowtail as sashimi and seared in a cast iron pan, and both were delicious.

3. Chobani Zero Sugar Yogurt
This zero-sugar offering from Chobani is sweetened with natural sweeteners including monk fruit and allulose. Each single-serve cup has just 60 calories and contains live and active cultures (including probiotics). It has a smooth, creamy texture and is available in four different flavors: Mixed Berry, Strawberry, Blueberry, and Vanilla.
Buy : Chobani Zero Sugar , $1.69 for 5.3 ounces at Publix
4. DEUX Drip
This chocolate-hazelnut spread from DEUX features aloe vera extract in the ingredient list. The company notes that the aloe “supports your body’s natural production of collagen, so you can have your skincare and eat it too.” At room temperature, DEUX has a thin consistency that’s perfect for drizzling or dipping, and when stored in the fridge it takes on a spreadable texture.

5. Country Archer Provisions Fuego Beef Jerky
I’m not someone who typically eats beef jerky, but my husband is — and he says this jerky tastes great. It has a kick, but nothing too overpowering, and it’s easy to bite into. It’s gluten-free and has nine grams of protein per serving.

6. Alani Nu Cookies & Cream Fit Protein Shake
These ready-to-drink protein shakes are my new go-to for refueling after a workout. They’re yummy (not chalky) and don’t upset my stomach the way that other whey protein products do. The shake is gluten-free, lactose-free, packed with 20 grams of lean whey protein, and has just six grams of sugar. I put a few bottles in my fridge so that I always have a chilled one ready to enjoy.
Buy : Alani Nu Cookies & Cream Fit Protein Shake , $3.49 for 12 ounces at Target
7. Acid League Living Tonics
If you’re the type of person who starts your day with a shot of straight-up apple cider vinegar, I think you’re a badass. For people who are interested in the benefits of apple cider vinegar without the intense assault on your palate, the mad food scientists at Acid League just released a collection of Living Tonics. Available in three flavors, each apple cider vinegar blend is made with premium ingredients and functional botanicals. They sum it up well: “Apple cider vinegar that tastes as good as it makes you feel.”

8. Just Crack an Egg Omelet Rounds
I’d eat eggs for breakfast every day if I could. Most days, I’m too busy (or lazy) to heat up a pan and deal with all the dishes afterwards, but these omelet rounds are convenient and tasty. Just pop them in the microwave for a minute and boom! A delicious, fluffy omelet is ready to enjoy.
Buy : Just Crack an Egg Omelet Rounds , $4.19 per package
