I’ll be honest: 99 percent of what makes road trips fun are the snacks. Hello , drive-thrus are quite literally made for these moments! But somewhere between the French fries and the onion rings lurks the biggest pitfall of driving while eating: spilled sauces. My usual technique is to balance sauce packets, like ketchup or honey mustard, on my thighs while I drive, but one sharp turn later and I’m wearing said condiments. Not to mention, my approach is inconvenient for actually dipping (and probably about as unsafe as texting while driving … ).

Happily, we live in a glorious time when “Shark Tank” turns all of our miniature problems into brilliant solutions, like the Saucemoto Dip Clip . This tiny little wonder is a serious game changer for in-car snackers. As one happy Amazon reviewer says, “This is the thing you never knew you needed!”

It might seem like a silly find, but this dip and sauce holder has over 9,600 five-star ratings, and I like those numbers. The Saucemoto frame is made from stainless steel and universally sized to attach to any car’s air vents and fit all major chain restaurants’ sauce containers. The actual receptacle is plastic, so you can keep the sauce in its container or pour it directly into a reusable ramekin. You can even adjust it to hold a package in either “landscape” or “portrait” mode.

Saucemoto won’t break your bank, either — a two-pack costs just $10.95 , which is more than worth never having to mop up barbecue sauce from your center console. Another reviewer points out that the set of two is definitely a must, commenting, “One for you, one for your passenger (so they can stop stealing your Whataburger Spicy Ketchup).” The Saucemoto Dip Clip is also sold in four-, six-, and 10-packs, so you can even set up an array of buffalo, ranch, mustard, mayo, and more.

This gadget is the real deal, which is probably why they totally crushed it on “Shark Tank.” If you’re still on the fence about whether or not to buy, take it from another happy reviewer who gives a whole different perspective: “I can now dunk with one hand and drive with the other. I have probably saved countless lives.” Indeed.
