A frozen pizza is like a security blanket for me: I just feel better when I know that I have one on hand. I’m guessing you feel the same way. (Why else would you have clicked on this story?) It means that, no matter what, your family will have something to eat for dinner. Even if it’s just bread and cheese without a vegetable in sight. It’s something, it’s quick, and it’s sure to please everyone in your household.

While there’s already no shortage of frozen pizza choices at the grocery store, more and more options seem to be popping up. Some may say it’s overwhelming, but I think it’s nice to have options — as long as you know what’s worth the freezer space. Which brings me to this list: three new-ish frozen pizza brands that are totally worth a try.

1. Talia di Napoli

Talia di Napoli pizzas are handmade in Naples by master Pizzaiolos in wood-fired ovens. The ingredients — fine 00 flour, olive oil from Puglia, and tomato sauce and fior di latte mozzarella from Campania — and cooking methods all meet the requirements of Neapolitan pizza, but it doesn’t get the official nod from the designating body because they don’t recognize frozen pizza. And this stuff is flash frozen within seconds of coming out of the oven; the company says they put the pizzas to “sleep” using a state-of-the-art, patented cryogenic chamber. To “wake up” your pizza, it just needs about 10 minutes in the oven. At around $15 each, they’re not inexpensive, but they’re on par with what you’d get if you were sitting at a pizza restaurant with a wood-fired oven. The Margherita , which also comes in a gluten-free version , is not to be missed.

2. Sweet Earth

If you’re trying to eat more plants , you may be excited to hear about Sweet Earth’s expanded line of new pizzas. They’re all plant-based (yes, even the Pepperoni Lover’s option) and depending on which one you choose, a good source of protein or fiber. The Chik’n Bacon Ranch (zesty ranch sauce with plant-based meat, tomatoes, onions, and poblano peppers) and the Single Serve Veggie Lover’s (with zesty tomato sauce, vegetables, and cauliflower cream sauce) are both fan favorites.

3. Snow Days Veggie White Pizza Bites

What’s better than a frozen pizza? Frozen pizza bites! And Snow Days makes the 2021 version of the ones I grew up eating. There are two versions (Cheese and now Veggie White) and both are organic and grain-free. The newest flavor has spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic, and basil. I personally love that you can sign up for a subscription, to get a monthly shipment of veggie bites, and save 10 percent. Then you’d really always have something on hand to eat!
