I love Guy Fieri. Not only am I a certified Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives stan, but I also find him to be the least pretentious TV host of all time. If you’ve watched any of his shows you know how down-to-earth he seems, and you also know that he is, in fact, the king of Flavortown . I hold Guy’s opinion of what tastes good in high esteem, so I was really intrigued to see how his garlic bread recipe would compare to others.

From the ingredient list alone, I could tell that Guy’s recipe was going to pack a ton of flavor. It involves hot sauce (!!), scallions, and a full two sticks of butter — so, needless to say, I was very excited to try it.

How to Make Guy Fieri’s Garlic Bread

Guy’s recipe is super simple. Start by slicing your baguette in half lengthwise. Then, mix softened butter with minced garlic, minced scallion, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and hot sauce to taste. Spread the mixture evenly over both halves of the bread, the broil for about 2 minutes.

My Honest Review of Guy Fieri’s Garlic Bread

This garlic bread was so good that it felt like something I would get from a restaurant — and to make things even better, it was so incredibly easy to whip up. In true Guy fashion, he doesn’t skimp on the butter (and, let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard for bread slathered in a substantial amount of butter not to taste delicious).

That said, it’s really what’s in the butter mixture that brings it all home . The hot sauce, scallions, Parmesan, and parsley work to create mindblowing flavor without overwhelming the garlic butter. It’s everything you never knew you needed in your garlic bread, but now you won’t be able to live without it. Whenever it’s time to make garlic bread, I know this is the recipe I’ll reach for time and time again.

If You’re Making Guy Fieri’s Garlic Bread, a Few Tips

  1. Don’t skip any ingredients in the garlic butter. If you can, use all of the recommended ingredients for the garlic butter. It’s what takes the dish from really good to really great.
  2. Broil for more than 2 minutes. For crunchy bread lovers out there, you can let your bread broil until it’s crunchy enough for your liking. Just be sure to keep a close eye on it — things go from zero to 100 very quickly when it comes to broiling.
