These $11 Baking Mats Have More than 29,000 Five-Star Reviews on Amazon

Silpat silicone baking mats are the gold standard: They ensure cookies brown and bake evenly and slide right off the baking sheet. They’re the perfect match for delicate macarons and even savory roasted foods, like salmon and chicken thighs. With them, there’s no parchment paper wasted or greasing required. And they’re even dishwasher-safe.
However, they do have one con: They’re expensive. As in, $25 for one mat . So, I was intrigued this review by America’s Test Kitchen that said the Amazon Basics silicone baking mats — which cost about $11 for two — are nearly identical to the ones by Silpat.
According to ATK, the Amazon Basics versions fit perfectly into baking sheets and create the same perfectly nonstick surface. However, if you need any more convincing, let’s look at the customer reviews (of which, there are more than 35,000 — the majority them five-stars!).
