The Kitchn Collective Shares Their All-Time Favorite Rice Recipes
published about 1 hour agoA person could eat a different rice dish every day for a year without having to repeat a meal. Considering that there are more than 100,000 kinds of rice in the world , there’s plenty to experiment with, and you’d never have to worry about getting bored.
Rice saves my butt in the kitchen more than anything else in the house — including my delivery menus. If it’s already 6 p.m. and I have absolutely no plan for what to do for dinner and not a ton of groceries in the house, the first thing I do is put on some rice, then I root around in the refrigerator to see what else I can quickly turn into food. Maybe I’ll sauté some vegetables, fry some eggs, or serve the rice under a big pile of meatballs. As long as I have rice, I know I’ll be able to make something.
Need some inspiration in the rice department? We asked our friends from the Kitchn Collective to share their all-time favorite rice dishes — here’s what they had to say.
1. Red Rice
“This red rice comes from a friend whose heritage is steeped in the Low Country. It truly has become one of my absolute favorite dishes because of its rich tomato flavor, fragrant spices and aromatics, and incredible flavor!” — Jocelyn Delk Adams from Grandbaby Cakes

3. Salmon Bibimbap
“Salmon bibimbap! This is not a traditional Korean bibimbap recipe at all, but it combines my love for salmon and bibimbap; Korean mixed rice. This is a great way to change up and elevate pan-fried or roasted salmon! I hope you try it!” — Alice Choi from Hip Foodie Mom

4. Cheesy Cauliflower Rice
“Cheesy cauliflower rice is not riced cauliflower, but rice that’s cooked with cauliflower in the mix. It blends together nicely and comes together with a deliciously easy cheese sauce. So good — for little kids and parents too!” — Amy Palanjian from Yummy Toddler Food
