Leftover Coconut Cream? Here Are 6 Ways to Use It Up!
updated YesterdayI used to fret any time I made a recipe that called for just a for a few spoonfuls or a partial cup of coconut cream. What to do with the leftovers? But not anymore. Now that I’ve uncovered plenty of creative uses for the leftovers, I’m always the lookout for coconut cream recipes.
Tropical drinks and dairy-free desserts are my favorite uses. While it’s not the same as coconut milk , you can still use coconut cream in place of coconut milk for soups, smoothies, and whole grains, for added richness. And when in doubt, whipping up a batch of luscious coconut whipped cream is always a good idea. From soup to smoothies to irresistible desserts, here are 8 coconut cream recipes to help you use up your leftovers.
What’s the Difference Between Coconut Milk and Coconut Cream?
You’ve probably seen both at the store and, perhaps, stood there in the aisle trying to recall which one your recipe calls for. Coconut milk and coconut cream are not the same thing. The main difference between milk and cream is in the concentration and consistency.
The main difference is that coconut milk will have the layer of thick coconut cream as well as the watery coconut milk underneath, but coconut cream is only made of that thick, spoonable cream.
