It’s been a long, hot summer, but the past couple of months have also provided a bounty of fresh tomatoes, strawberries, corn, and zucchini. It’s possible to get those things during the winter, of course, but they taste so much better when they’re in-season. A big strawberry-studded salad with sweet corn and fresh herbs is never going be the showstopper in January that it is at a July cookout — which is why we need to take advantage of all our favorite summer recipes now.

Looking for some meal inspiration? We asked the Kitchn Colective for their must-make summer recipes — here’s what they had to say.

1. Marinated Skirt Steak with Chimichurri

“This recipe is super popular on my website during the summer. It’s an absolute must. No summer is complete without it! A lot of the flavor comes from the marinade, but the chimichurri brightens each bite even more. I seriously can’t get enough of it and neither can my readers.” — Jocelyn Delk Adams from Grandbaby Cakes
