Halloween is right around the corner and if you’re one who can’t get enough of all things spooky-themed, then this very timely (and tasty-looking) bread recipe just might become your go-to for ending the season with a bang.

If you follow popular baking account King Arthur Baking , then you know that they’re always posting decadent treats and goodies to their account. And while this month there has been no shortage of Halloween-inspired delectables, one in particular really set the vibes for this upcoming scarefest of a weekend: a Jack Skellington-themed loaf of bread.

Aptly calling the creation the “Jack-of-all-carbs,” the loaf — which is made to look like the star of Disney’s fan-favorite film The Nightmare Before Christmas — is a spooky spin on their classic “ Easiest Loaf of Bread You’ll Ever Bake ” recipe. And, the added step to make this creation take on a chilling form is just as simple as the initial recipe itself.

“Recreate this Jack-of-all carbs with 4-tablespoons [of] food-grade activated charcoal,” the caption encourages.

As the initial recipe for the bread only calls for 2 hours and 10 minutes of your time as well as a simplified ingredient list that includes the brand’s unbleached bread flour, a small amount of sugar, instant yeast, table salt, water, and cornmeal, adding in the activated charcoal (and minimal design skills) is a simple hack to take your regular loaves to the next level.

If you do decide to give this a try for this weekend’s mashup of events, just be advised that adding activated charcoal into this recipe can interfere with certain medications, so chat with your doctor first or consider using alternative ingredients like black cocoa, black food coloring, or black sesame. Whatever you decide to use though, I’m sure it’ll be true love at first bite.
