This Study Revealed the Most Popular Beer in Each State and the Results Will Surprise You
published NowIf you like to kick back and relax with an ice-cold beer after a hard day of work, you’re not alone. Whether you’re drinking beer at home or stopping by your favorite brewery or pub, beer has become one of America’s most beloved sips over time. And according to a 2016 report by the World Health Organization, 47 percent of Americans actually consume beer more than any other alcoholic beverage.
While those numbers — which may have increased since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic — may be surprising to some, a new beer report recently published by TOP Agency may really be the thing to shock you. The TOP Data Beer Report reveals the choice brew of each state, and there’s one particular brand that tends to be a favorite among the lot.
Coming in as the preference in 23 states, including California, New York, and Virginia, is none other than Budweiser . Now able to boast the title of “America’s Favorite Beer,” the longtime brand is managing to hold a special place in everyone’s heart. Coming in second with popularity (and a huge gap) amongst beer-lovers is Bud Light — which gets a lot of love in states like Connecticut, North Carolina, and Washington.
The state-by-state graph also reveals that the folks in Georgia prefer their own state-made brand, with the Athens-brewed Terrapin, as does Texas, with the San Antonio-brewed Long Star Beer. Other brands that found their way into the hearts of other states were Coors Light, Heineken, Miller Lite, and Stella Artois.
The report also reveals that since the onset of the pandemic, alcohol sales have increased by 8.92 percent, with 37.4 percent of Americans choosing to sip on flavored malt beverages (FMB) and progressive adult beverages (PAB). It was also noted in the survey that just about 24 percent of the people who took the survey admitted to drinking 20 or more beers a month. That’s a lot of beer in one year!
So, if you’ve every wondered if people love beer as much as you do, this should be a comforting reassurance that you’re not alone. Happy sipping!
