Being an amateur baker has many upsides: the fun times in the kitchen, the resulting treats, all the frosting you get to lick from the bowl! The only downside? Figuring out where to stash all of that stuff . Between the pans, cookie cutters, measuring cups, and everything else, it can be hard to find space for it all — you know, and still have room for the stuff you need to get real meals on the table. That’s where this post comes in. We’ve got a handful of ideas to help you make space for all your baking supplies. Let’s take a look.

1. File your baking sheets and muffin tins vertically.

If you’ve ever struggled to pull a sheet pan out from the bottom of a stack, then this tip is for you. Use tension rods or even drawer dividers to create a filing system that will hold things up vertically. This way, you can slide in baking sheets, muffin tins, cake pans, cutting boards, platters, and more. And then you can pull out what you need without having to stack and re-stack stuff.

2. Store silicone baking mats in paper towel tubes.

The best way to store silicone baking mats? Rolled up in a segment of the cardboard tube from your paper towels. The next time you finish a roll, use scissors to cut off a few inches and then roll up and pull the mat through. This will keep the mat rolled up and make it so that you can stash it in a drawer or on a shelf.

3. Keep stand mixer attachments in the bowl.

Your stand mixer likely came with a bunch of fun (and totally necessary!) attachments. Store them right in the bowl and you won’t have to carve out extra space, and everything will be right there when you need it. You can even add a tea towel to the bowl to keep things from scratching or getting dusty.

4. Hang measuring cups and spoons from the walls of cabinets.

You may have seen other sites suggest hanging measuring cups and spoons on the back of your cabinet doors, but we actually do not recommend that . (They clang and bang something awful when you open the door!) Instead, use key holders or Command hooks on the inside walls of your cabinets. The idea is the same — only the cups won’t scare the ever-living daylight out of you whenever you open the cabinet.

5. Store cupcake liners in jars.

If you’re a frequent cupcake or muffin maker, you’re likely up to your eyeballs in cupcake liners. And once you start using a stack, they never seem to nest quite the same way ever again. Keep all your options under control by storing them in either Mason jars (which happen to be the perfect size) or apothecary jars (which will look cute all lined up on the counter).

6. Sort cookie cutters in plastic boxes.

Believe it or not, Media Boxes ($12 each at The Container Store) are still a thing! And our Editor-in-Chief, Faith Durand, swears by them! Faith uses them for cookie cutters and baking supplies and likes that they come with dividers to separate her cutters by theme. Of course, you could use clear plastic shoe boxes, too.

7. Hang everything in a baking station.

We’re big fans of creating stations: By grouping things that you usually use together, you’ll end up saving time when you go to use said things. If you have the wall space, consider hanging a pegboard (look at our fun solution for the rolling pin!). If not, what about a rolling cart that you can pull in and out of a pantry or closet when it’s time to bake?
