Here’s What Kitchn Staffers Bought on Prime Day

Prime Day arrived yesterday in a big way, bringing with it huge savings on hundreds of thousands (!!) of items across all product categories. And because you know we love a good deal, Kitchn staffers were online early scoring unbelievable deals left and right on everything from gifts to gadgets . Take a look below at some of the new buys that we’re super excited about — even better, many are still on sale. Senior editor Jasmine took advantage of one of the early Prime Day deals by buying coffee from one of our favorite brands, BLK and Bold, earlier this month. "I’ve heard so many great things about BLK and Bold and decided to give their dark roast a whirl (love it, btw!)," she says. "I’ve also been making a more conscious effort to support Black-owned businesses whenever I can, so I was very proud to be able to do that on Prime Day."
I loved my old Kindle ... until I dropped it in the pool. The new model is waterproof (aka me-proof), and because of the Prime Day discount, I went for it and treated myself to the 25 GB version. I cannot wait to use it at (and in!) the pool, in the kitchen, and maybe even on a plane ...
Kitchn's tools editor, Riddley, snagged a fantastic deal on this collapsible coffee cup from Stojo. "We're going to be road-tripping to see family this summer, and I wanted a packable travel cup! This guy was almost half off, and I really like the colorway." (Full disclosure: I bought a Stojo of my own , too.)
Managing Editor Ivy got an awesome deal on a set of brandy snifters to gift to her grandfather. "He loves to socialize at his senior living home and enjoys a little brandy before bed," she explains. "Now his (very wild) get-togethers can be a bit more elevated." We'll drink to that!
Commerce writer Sarah spread the Prime Day love to her family, too. “For a good year now, my dad has been obsessed with my Bose headphones ," she says. "I picked him up a pair as a belated Father’s Day gift. He loves how comfortable they are as well as how much they really block outside noise." And she especially loves that she got them at such a great price.
"I've had my eyes on these funnels for a while because I don't have one in my apartment," says commerce intern Grace. "And I'm a sucker for anything collapsible, especially something so irregularly shaped and awkward to store as a funnel." Plus, Prime Day puts them at less than $2 each when you buy a set of four!
