A Sip of Paradise
St. Agrestis’s new aperitivo, Paradiso, designed for the spritz, has a bracing citrus profile and a spicy aroma.
St. Agrestis, the Brooklyn distiller known for its Italian approach to amaro and cocktails like the Negroni, has introduced a new aperitivo. Called Paradiso and sold in a distinctive tapered bottle like St. Agrestis’s other products, it’s the mellow yang to the decidedly bitter yin of the company’s Inferno Bitter and is formulated to be the foundation of a spritz. The honey-colored 40-proof spirit is made with a wine base, gets its bracing profile from blood orange and citrus peels, and has a spicy aroma with a hint of baked apple on the palate. Come fall, blend it in a spritz with sparkling hard cider (try Brooklyn Cider House Bone Dry) or simply enjoy it on the rocks.
St. Agrestis Paradiso Aperitivo, $34.99 for 750 milliliters, stagrestis.com .
